Summer Yates put together an impressive freshman campaign for Washington, finishing second on the team in points and leading the Huskies in shots. In her first seven career games, she scored three goals, including her first career gamewinner against Utah Valley. Yates would also assist on a goal in that 2-1 win for the Huskies.
What is your favorite soccer memory?
When I was eight, my coached played me at keeper and I scored.
What's the coolest place you have traveled?
I went to Australia with the U18 National Team.
What is something you want to learn?
How to do a backflip.
What's a talent you have people do not know about?
I used to play guitar.
What is your favorite movie?
The Hunger Games, because of how action-packed it is.
What is your favorite part of campus?
The football stadium, because of all the hype it brings to the campus.
What are some of your hobbies?
Camping and hiking with my friends and family.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Graduating college and find a job or hopefully playing pro soccer.
Why did you choose to come to Washington?
This has been my dream school since I was 11 and I fell in love with the campus the first time I walked onto it.
What is the best goal you've ever scored?
In U12, one of my teammates crossed me a ball and I scored a bicycle kick.
