UW stays in the friendly confines of Alaska Airlines Arena to face UC Santa Barbara on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks with Roxy Bernstein and Mary Murphy on the call. Additionally, fans can listen to Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton on the Official Husky Radio Broadcast on 1000AM KOMO/97.7 FM. The Huskies have faced UC Santa Barbara four times in program history and own a 3-1 record in those meetings. The two programs last met in 2015 with UCSB taking a 83-78 victory in Seattle (Dec. 27, 2015).
The Coach
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is in his second year at Washington, and second as a head coach after becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. After spending 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins oversaw teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff. In his first year at UW, Hopkins earned the 2018 Pac-12 Coach of the Year Award while leading the Huskies to a 21-13 record ending in the second round of the NIT.

• Against EWU, senior Dominic Green became the third Husky to post 20 points in a game this season as he scored a career-best 25 points ... he went 7-of-10 from 3-point range and his seven made tie for the second-most in a single game in UW history, done just six other times, most recently by C.J. • Nowell is shooting 58 percent from the field this season up from 45.1 a year ago ... out of the 20 candidates for the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year award, Nowell's shooting percentage is the best by just under four percent
• Nowell has shot over 50 percent from the field in 18 of his 41 career games (43.9 percent) ... Nowell is 47-of-81 (58.0%) this season and for his career is at 47.1% (250-of-531)
• Nowell once again leads the Huskies in scoring as he has only scored below 14 points in one game this season ... he's averaging 18.1 ppg over the first seven games after leading the team with 16.0 ppg a year ago
• Sophomore Naz Carter has been providing a spark off the bench for the Huskies as he is averaging 8.7 points in 20 minutes per game
