
UW Schedule Features Nine Teams That Competed In Post-Season

Fresh off the program's first trip to the College World Series in 2018, the Washington Huskies will have to navigate a challenging schedule, chock-full of high-level opponents in 2019. The Huskies will play 16 games against nine different teams that participated in the 2018 NCAA post-season.

Husky fans will have plenty of opportunities to see the Diamond Dawgs in person and on television as at least 21 of their 56 games will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.

The Huskies are coming off of a historic campaign in which they accomplished several program firsts. They won the Conway Regional and Fullerton Super Regional en route to a 35-26 record and their first trip to Omaha. Β

First up in 2019 for the Dawgs will be a trip to Orange County in Southern California for four games. The Huskies open the season Friday, Feb. 15 with a three-game series against UC Irvine. They cap the road trip with a Monday matinee against Cal State Fullerton at Goodwin Field, site of the Huskies' 10th-inning rally that propelled them to their first College World Series this past June.

In the second week of action, the Huskies commence a stretch of playing 19 of 22 games in the state of Washington.

UW opens up the home portion of its schedule with a four-game series against Northern Colorado. The Husky Ballpark opener will be Friday, Feb. 22 at 6:00 p.m.

Washington opens up March hosting a three-game series against Cal Poly, March 1-3. The Huskies then travel to Bellevue for the first of two mid-week matchups against Seattle U on March 5. The Redhawks return the favor with a game at Husky Ballpark on April 30.

From March 8-10, Washington will participate in a three-day, six-team tournament at the home field of the Seattle Mariners in the Seattle Baseball Showcase. The Seattle Sports Commission will play host to the tournament, which features five teams that participated in the post-season last year.

All three of Washington's games in the Seattle Baseball Showcase will be against 2018 NCAA tournament teams and will be played at 7:00 p.m. First, the Huskies face Indiana on Friday, March 8. On Saturday, they will play Coastal Carolina, who hosted the Huskies at the Conway Regional in 2018. The Huskies wrap up the tournament on Sunday, March 10, against Minnesota. Also in the tournament are the defending national champion Oregon State Beavers and San Diego Toreros.

Following the tournament, the Huskies open up Pac-12 play. They will travel to Eugene, Ore., and take on the Ducks, Friday, March 15-17.

UW opens Pac-12 home play the next week against the USC Trojans, March 22-24.

After a pair of midweek games versus Gonzaga in Spokane, Wash., (March 26-27), UW returns home to take on the Beavers. The three-game series is scheduled Friday-Sunday, March 29-31 and will mark the Huskies inaugural appearances on the Pac-12 Network.

After three games at Arizona, April 5-7, the Huskies return home for a single game against Cal Baptist on Monday, April 8. They then hop back on a plane and will take on defending Pac-12 Champion Stanford in a three-game series, April 12-14. All six of the Dawgs' conference road games will be telecast by the Pac-12 Network.

UW stays in the Bay Area for a single game on Monday, April 15 at Santa Clara before returning to the Northwest for a stretch. The Diamond Dawgs host BYU, April 18-20, in their conference bye week, and head down to Portland for a single game against the Pilots on Tuesday, April 23. They then return home to host the Sun Devils of Arizona State, April 26-28, and host Seattle U, April 30, to wrap up the month.
