
Get To Know: Ameera Hussen

After moving into the lineup midway through the season, Ameera Hussen has become a dangerous attacking force for the Huskies. The sophomore has scored two goals this year, with her goal last week against Cal ending up the gamewinner. She has had multiple shots in nine different games. That includes seven of the last nine games, a streak that has seen Hussen put 16 shots on goal as well. Hussen has made seven starts this season for Washington and is third on the team in total shots now with 34 in her 16 appearances.
What is your favorite soccer memory?
Beating Florida my freshman year.
What's the coolest place you have traveled?
I went to Rome with my soccer team.
What is something you want to learn?
I want to learn how to whistle with my fingers.
What's a talent you have people do not know about?
I can headstand on a paddleboard.
What is your favorite movie?
Footloose.
What is your favorite part of the UW campus?
The Quad. It's a great space to meet new people and enjoy the trees.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love to read, swim, kayak, hike, and camp.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully playing professional soccer overseas.
What is your favorite memory from your travels in soccer?
I played in the Gothia Cup in Sweden. It was amazing to interact with people from other countries. The soccer was so appreciated.

A free kick from 30 yards out in the last minute to win a game 1-0.
