Though she has missed this season with injury, Sam Kokoska has been a vital part of the Huskies since coming to Seattle. In her first year, Kokoska picked up a goal and an assist, chipping in offensively for the Huskies. Kokoska has started 21 games in her three years of playing at Washington. Last season, she was an important part of the midfield, playing 15 games off the bench.
What is your favorite soccer memory?
Scoring my first and only goal here at UW and celebrating in pure joy with my teammates.
What's the coolest place you have traveled?
Japan. It offered a lot of learning opportunities and the company was great. It was an unreal experience: the laughs, the team bonding, and it was beautiful!
What is something you want to learn?
How to break dance.
What's a talent you have people do not know about?
I can juggle, just not soccer balls.
What is your favorite movie?
Finding Nemo!
What is your favorite part of Seattle?
I love Seattle because of its commitment to environmental sustainability. I also love the farmer's market and local hiking.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy reading, swimming, shooting hoops, hiking, and basically anything outdoors.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Pursuing a career in medicine and positively impacting my local community.
Why did you choose to come to Washington?
It offered the perfect balance of great soccer and challenging engineering classes, and the lively Seattle community.
What is the best goal you've ever scored?
My one and only goal, against Portland.
