Get To Know: Jessika Cowart

In her first year starting, Jessika Cowart has held down a midfield role with ease, serving as Washington's holding midfielder and routinely winning back possession for the Huskies. Cowart, who scored her first career goal last season, picked up her first career assist earlier this year, in the 5-0 win over Seattle U. She has had three games with multiple shots despite playing primarily a defensive role.
What is your favorite soccer memory?
Being able to travel around the world and play soccer with my friends.
What's the coolest place you have traveled?
Spain, to play with the Women's Futsal National Team.
What is something you want to learn?
How to maintain my discipline throughout my whole life.
What's a talent you have people do not know about?
I can pick things up with my toes.
What is your favorite movie?
The Outsiders.
What is your favorite part of the UW campus?
The big fountain where you can see Mt. Rainier.
What are some of your hobbies?
Hiking and reading.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself being a medic on a helicopter. Maybe in the military, who knows?
What has been your favorite international soccer experience?
In 2017, I traveled to Spain with the Futsal National Team and we won! My favorite part was being picked for the top ten out of the whole tournament.
What is the best goal you've ever scored?
The best goal I've ever scored is a goal I shot from outside the box that went into the upper left corner. We went on to defeat our club rivals 2-1.
