UW Wraps Up Mountain Swing at Colorado on Saturday at 3 p.m.

UW (13-6, 3-3) at Colorado (12-7, 4-3)
UW wraps up its mountain road trip on Saturday as it faces Colorado on Jan. 20 at 3 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks with J.B. Long and Mike Montgomery on the call. Additionally, fans can tune into KOMO 1000AM and 97.7 FM to hear the official UW radio broadcast from Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton. Washington leads the series 12-11 and last won at Colorado on Jan. 22, 2015 (52-50).
The Coach
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is in his first year at Washington, and first as a head coach becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. After spending 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins oversaw teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff.

• In 19 games, freshman Jaylen Nowell has recorded seven 20+ scoring efforts while leading the team in scoring nine times ... he has scored at least 10 points in 12-straight games and in 18 of his 19 career games
• In its 13 wins, UW is shooting 51.0 percent from the field with three of its starters shooting over 50 percent (Timmins, 65.9; Dickerson, 62.3; Nowell, 53.1) in those wins
• Sophomore Sam Timmins has passed his point total from last season as he now has 100 career points ... he had 98 in 30 games a year ago
• Timmins has also upped his FT attempts, making it to the charity stripe 48 times in 19 games shooting a 54.2 percent clip ... last season he was just 6-of-16 for 37.5 percent in 30 games
• Thybulle is creating scoring on the direct next possession of 61.0 percent of his 59 steals this year ... over the last two years he is creating scoring on 55.6 percent of the next possession and for his career he is at 55.8 percent (91 of 163 steals)
• Washington has shot over 50 percent from the field in seven of its 19 games ... in the last four seasons, it's taken UW at least 30 games to get to seven outings with 50 percent or better shooting from the field
