UW (13-5, 3-2) at Utah (10-7, 2-4)
UW hits the road to head to the mountain schools this week, first facing Utah on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks with J.B. Long and Dan Belluomini on the call. Additionally, fans can tune into KOMO 1000AM and 97.7 FM to hear the official UW radio broadcast from Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton. Utah has a 13-9 lead in the series that started in 1951. UW's last road win at Utah came on Jan. 7, 2012 (57-53).
The Coach
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is in his first year at Washington, and first as a head coach becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. After spending 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins oversaw teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff.

• The Huskies have recorded 10 or more steals nine times this season in its 18 games ... the last season where UW had at least 10 steals nine times was the 2009-10 campaign

• In UW's three road wins (Kansas, USC, WSU), it has five players in double-digit scoring, are shooting 55.9 percent from the field while holding opponents to 44.8 while that number drops when you look at the opponent's 3-point FG percentage in those games (22.4 percent)
• In 18 games, freshman Jaylen Nowell has recorded seven 20+ scoring efforts while leading the team in scoring eight times ... he has scored at least 10 points in 11-straight games and in 17 of his 18 career games
• In its 13 wins, UW is shooting 51.0 percent from the field with three of its starters shooting over 50 percent (Timmins, 65.9; Dickerson, 62.3; Nowell, 53.1) in those wins
• Sophomore Sam Timmins has matched his point total from last season (98), taking him just 18 games compared to 30 a year ago
• UW assisted on 14 of its 22 baskets against Cal, a 63.6 percent mark, which is its highest percentage this season
• Washington has shot over 50 percent from the field in seven of its 18 games ... in the last four seasons, it's taken UW at least 30 games to get to seven outings with 50 percent or better shooting from the field
• Washington has overcome 10 point deficits three times this season in wins over Belmont, USC and Washington State .. additionally, UW has trailed by at least five in six of its 13 wins
• Washington has had four players score in double figures in 10 of its 18 games
• After WSU hit four 3's in the first five minutes on Saturday, the Huskies held the Cougs to just three more from long distance as WSU finished 7-of-27 after entering the game leading the nation at 12.1 made from 3 per game
• Junior Matisse Thybulle is the only active player in NCAA Division 1 to have over 160 steals and 80 blocks in their career ... his 160 steals rank tied for 18th amongst the NCAA active career leaders in that category
• Washington has had fewer turnovers than its opponents in 12 of its 18 games and are 9-3 in those outings
• Starting with the Kansas game, sophomore Sam Timmins has been 22-of-35 from the field, shooting at a 62.8 percent clip with 12 blocks. Fourteen of his 22 made FGs (63.6 percent) in that span have come from dunks.
• UW is the only team in the NCAA to record 16 steals and 15 blocks in the same game this season after doing so against BCU .. since the 2011-12 season only one other school has recorded those numbers in a single game ... Syracuse (12/28/2011 - 17 steals, 15 blocks - v. Seton Hall)
