September 22, 2017 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLEΒ - Washington hits the road for just the second time this season but doesn't have to travel far, driving across town to face off against No. 24 Seattle University at Championship Field on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in its final non-conference tuneup.
The Huskies are riding a three-match winning streak which has pushed their record to 6-2-0 on the season. Washington picked up wins over Drexel (4-0), Santa Clara (4-3) and Utah Valley (4-0) over its last three games, tallying 12 goals over that stretch. The offensive outburst is something not seen in 30 years for Washington as the last time the Huskies scored at least four goals in three-straight matches came late in the 1987 season.
Scott Menzies recorded Washington's second-straight hat trick, netting three goals off the bench against Utah Valley. The redshirt senior entered the game in the 38th minute and just two minutes later scored the first of two goals over a one-minute stretch. Menzies followed up the hat trick by Handwalla Bwana which came against Santa Clara on Sunday.Β
Freshman Blake Bodily has come on strong over the last five matches, recording two goals and five assists. He had two assists in the victory over Utah Valley and is the team leader with five on the season.
