SEATTLE – Sunday was a big day for Husky Softball. The program held its annual fan fest prior to the game, honored seniors Ali Aguilar and Casey Stangel and won its series against Stanford after a 10-2 win in five innings.

Taran Alvelo (25-6) showed her abilities once again in the circle, striking out three and giving up only two runs during the five innings.
Stanford but the first run on the board after Kylie Sorenson hit a home run off Alvelo's first pitch of the day.
Down 1-0in the bottom of the first, Aguilar and Bates hit back-to-back singles, followed by a walk to Stangel. Flores hit a two-run double to left field to score Aguilar and Bates. Van Zee then hit the ball over the left field wall to clear the bases and extend the Huskies' lead to 5-1.
In the second inning, Bates led off with a triple and scored off a sacrifice fly from Flores.
Washington tacked on one more run in the third inning after Kirstyn Thomas hit a lead-off double. Bates singled to left field, sending Thomas home from second to give Washington a 7-1 lead.
The Cardinal attempted to catch up to the Huskies in the fourth inning after another lead-off homer, this time from Lauren Bertoy. However, Alvelo didn't give up another hit that inning.
