
Huskies Fall To No. 16 Cal 0-7

BERKELEY, Calif. – In their first match on the road since March 26th, the Washington women's tennis team faced a tough challenge with 16th ranked California, falling today 0-7 at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
The Huskies surrendered the doubles point to open the match, falling on courts one and two. On court three, freshman duo Katarina Kopcalic and Lana Slavica led No. 75 Denise Starr and Alexis Nelson 4-3, but their match went unfinished.
In singles, California was able to clinch first sets on each court, and Washington was unable to bounce back. Court five was the first to finish, with Kopcalic falling 6-0, 6-1, and Slavica falling shortly after to make it 0-3 Cal.
The Golden bears clinched the match with a win on court one, as No. 35 Stacey Fung fell to No. 65 Maegan Manasse. The remaining matches were played out, with Prokopuik falling to No. 104 Olivia Hauger on court three, and Kobayashi dropping her match on court two. On court three, Kenadi Hance fell in a battle with Starr 6-4, 6-3 to close out the day.
The Dawgs will be back at it tomorrow when they face Stanford at noon.
