SEATTLE – Following a 6-0 start to her collegiate career, Nela Jandova has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced today.

It is the first Big Ten Freshman of the Week nod for the Huskies since Carina Syrtveit was honored twice in 2025.

Jandova made her collegiate debut at the Barb Chandler Classic this past weekend where she won her group with a 3-0 singles record. All three of her singles wins came in three sets with victories over Utah, Boise State and Weber State to take home the title. Jandova also won the doubles tournament alongside Marina Markina.
