
GymDawgs To Host Seattle Pacific For Regular Season Finale

SEATTLE – UW gymnastics will finish out their regular season this Saturday, March 11, at 4:00 p.m. PT against Seattle Pacific. The meet will be streamed live.
"Saturday will be a joyous celebration of our incredible senior class," said head coach Elise Ray. "The team will compete their hearts out for their seniors. We're so excited to be back in front of our families, friends, and fans and to compete for, celebrate, and honor four incredible young ladies."
Washington is coming off a two-meet road stint in which they scored a 196.450 in each of their matchups. The last time the Huskies were at home they posted a season-high 197.175 against Arizona State on February 19, a score that ranks 8th all-time in program history.
Following the meet on Saturday the GymDawgs will honor the careers of their four seniors – Kaitlyn Duranczyk, Alexandra Yacalis, Janae Janik and student coach Jessica Nesis.

Washington has won the last 19 matchups against the Falcons and holds a 74-3 all-time record. Last season the GymDawgs faced SPU twice, defeating them both times.

Seattle Pacific is ranked No. 65 with event rankings at No. 53 on vault, No. 70(t) on bars, No. 61 on beam, and No. 68 on floor. Their highest score of the season came two weeks ago when they scored a 192.600 against UC Davis.

Vault, No. 21, RQS: 49.005 – Hailey Burleson leads the GymDawgs with two event titles on the season. Freshman Haley Roy is coming off a career day, scoring a personal best 9.9 on vault against Oregon State last weekend for her first event title of the season. Yacalis also has one vault event title.
Bars, No. 23(t), RQS: 49.035 – Duranczyk has a top-3 finish in six out of the eight meets this year and has two bars titles on the season. She is currently tied for No. 24 in the nation on the event. Freshman Madison Copiak had a career-high 9.9 last weekend against OSU, tying her for second place. Joslyn Goings and Maya Washington also have top-3 performances on bars this season.
Beam, No. 12, RQS: 49.215 – They GymDawgs held their No.12 beam ranking after scoring a 49.225 on beam against Oregon State. Goings moved up to tied for 16th on beam after scoring a 9.9 last week. Burleson now ranks tied for No. 19 after tying her season high 9.925. Goings leads the team with four beam titles, Burleson has two, and Zoey Schaefer and Malory Rose each have one.
Floor, No. 12(t), RQS: 49.220 – The GymDawgs climbed two spots in the rankings to No. 12(t) after scoring a 49.075. Burleson leads the Huskies with six top-3 finishes. Yacalis added another top-3 finish last week. Duranczyk and Washington both have top-3 finishes this season.
All-Around – Burleson ranks No. 14 in the nation in the AA. She has five AA titles on the season. Goings tied her season high all-around score last week with a 39.275.
