This Weekend
The Huskies continue the 2017 season in their third road tournament as the No. 8 ranked team in the nation. The team will play in Palm Springs, Calif. beginning, Friday, Feb. 24 in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. Washington will face Ohio State (5-3), No. 17 Missouri (5-2), Northwestern (1-8), Texas (7-3) and UCSB (3-5).

The Huskies are on a six-game winning streak after bouncing back from a loss against BYU on Feb. 10 in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge. The last time the Huskies were on a six-game win streak was in 2016 after sweeping Stanford (May 15-17) and going 3-0 at the NCAA Regionals against Weber State and Minnesota (May 20-22).
The Huskies remain No. 8 in the NFCA Coaches Poll for the second week in a row but jumped up one spot to No. 7 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball rankings.
Ali Aguilar has moved up to No. 5 on the most runs scored in program history with 185. She has eight runs on nine hits for the season.
Taran Alvelo is 5-0 with with a 1.95 ERA in 37 innings. After going 3-0 in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge she was named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week, ESPNW Pitcher of the Week and NFCA Pitcher of the Week.
Alvelo threw a six-hit shutout against No. 1 Oklahoma in Puerto Vallarta. She earned her second shutout of the season against Cal State Northridge last Friday.
Washington is one of four Pac-12 teams in this week's top-10 NCFA poll. The other schools in the top-10 are No. 5 Oregon, No. 6 UCLA and No. 9 Arizona.
Freshman Sis Bates hit .583 with one triple and two home runs. She led the team in on base percentage and slugging percentage for an OPS of 1.788.
