February 10, 2017 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE, Wash. โ The GymDawgs will stay home this weekend to continue Pac-12 play against Arizona State in a dual meet on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2:00 p.m. PT. The meet will air live on the Pac-12 Networks. In honor of those who serve our country, anyone who has a Military I.D. will receive free admission as part of our Salute to Service meet.
"It's a great feeling to be home for our next two competitions," said head Coach Elise Ray.ย "Though we came back strong last weekend after a rough start, we did miss an opportunity for good score on the road. We've filtered that frustration into training this week and the team is ready and focused to put 4 events together and have some fun in front of our home crowd. "
Last weekend the Huskies scored a season-high 49.250 on floor and a 49.175 on beam. The GymDawgs moved up to No. 17 in the national rankings this week, one spot up from their ranking last week. Washington ranks inside the top-26 teams in the nation on every event, with their highest ranking coming on beam (No. 8).
Washington had four gymnasts score a 9.875 against Stanford. Sophomore Kristyn Hoffa scored a 9.875 on floor, while Joslyn Goings, Zoey Schaefer, and Malory Rose all scored 9.875s on beam. Goings now has two beam titles on the season.
