Keever Named To All-Pac-12 Team
November 07, 2017 | Women's Soccer
SEATTLE - With the announcement of the Pac-12's All-Conference teams, Kimberly Keever found herself honored for the fourth consecutive year. Keever was named to the All-Pac-12 Third Team after leading the Huskies in goals and points this season, scoring six or more goals for the third time in four seasons while starting all 20 games.
"The All-Conference selections are clearly an indication of the extremely high caliber of women's soccer players competing in the Pac-12," said Head Coach Lesle Gallimore. "I'm disappointed we didn't have more players selected as I feel they are up there with the best, but when it comes to voting I think a lot of the selections come down to in-conference statistics and as a team we didn't have the statistics or the game results to have more individuals selected.
"With that being said, I'm so pleased that Kimby was recognized because she has been an impact player her entire career here at Washington and is more than deserving of the honor."
The senior tied her career-high in goals (6), assists (2), and points (14) this year while setting a new career-high in minutes played with 1676. She started every game for the third consecutive year. Keever also set new career-highs in shots (52), shots on goal (23), and game-winning goals (4).
Those six goals by Keever gave her 22 in her career, tying her with Caroline Putz for fifth in Washington history. Her 11 game-winning goals put her in third place in Husky history, just behind Tami Bennett's 12. Keever is one of just four Huskies ever to record at least ten game-winning goals.
This season also saw Keever record her second career multi-goal game. Keever scored both of the Huskies' goals against Illinois to lead the team to a 2-1 road win. Keever also had a two-goal game in 2015, scoring twice in 36 seconds to erase a 2-0 deficit against Gonzaga.
Keever has earned a conference honor every year of her Husky career. After finishing second on the Huskies in goals as a freshman with six, she was named to the All-Freshman Team, one of eight Huskies in program history to earn that award. Six more goals in 2015 earned Keever a spot on the All-Pac-12 Second Team as she finished second on the Huskies in goals and points, leading UW to a NCAA Tournament bid.
Keever was also named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team last season after scoring four goals and starting all 20 games for the Huskies. She was third on the team in both goals and points that year.
