Dawgs Start First of Three Games in Five Days on Friday at Noon

UW (2-2) vs. Seattle U
UW starts the first of three home games in five days on Friday as it hosts cross-town foe Seattle U at Noon on Nov. 24 at Alaska Airlines Arena. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks with Mark Rogondino and Steve Lavin on the call. Additionally fans can tune into KOMO 1000AM and 97.7 FM to hear the official UW radio broadcast from Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton. The Huskies own a 28-4 record over Seattle U and have won 12-straight dating back to 1978. Additionally, Washington has a 15-1 record at home when facing the Redhawks.

The Coach
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is starting his first year at Washington, and first as a head coach becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. After spending 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins oversaw teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff.

• UW has outrebounded three of its first four opponents to start the season
• Matisse Thybulle's minutes have seen a massive increase this season, averaging 34.0 per game compared to 29.8 as a sophomore and 24.1 as a freshman.
• David Crisp's 137 career 3-point FG's made currently rank eighth on UW's all-time list and are seven shy of seventh place (Justin Dentmon, 144, 2006-09).
• Jaylen Nowell's career-high six steals against Providence tie for the third-most in a single game in program history (the school record is nine set by radio analyst Jason Hamilton - 11/28/96)
• Junior Noah Dickerson recorded 22 rebounds and added 28 points against EWU, both career highs ... his 22 rebounds were the most by a UW player since Steve Hawes had 22 against Stanford (2/26/72) and they also tied for the fourth most in a game in program history
• Freshman Jaylen Nowell has reached double-digit scoring in every game so far this season including two 20+ scoring efforts ... he is leading the league's freshmen in scoring at 19.3 ppg and is the only Pac-12 freshman to reach 10+ points in every game this season
• Freshman Jaylen Nowell recorded 32 points in his Husky debut, the most points by any UW freshman in their first outing ... it is also the second-straight year a UW freshman has scored 30 or more in their debut as Markelle Fultz had 30 a year ago
• Junior Matisse Thybulle has started in 69-straight games, which is the longest streak since Abdul Gaddy started 69-straight games over the 2011-12, 2012-13 season .. the next longest streak is Quincy Pondexter who started 73-straight games from 2007-08 to 2009-10.
