SEATTLE – The Pac-12 Conference released the 2018 baseball schedule and the Huskies will face six teams that participated in the 2017 NCAA tournament. Washington will also appear on the Pac-12 Network no less than 17 times.
The Huskies, who were 28-26 last season, will open the campaign on the road against Sacramento State. The four-game series will be Friday, Feb. 16 through Monday, Feb. 19. The Hornets were WAC champions last season to earn a post-season berth.
Washington will open the home portion of its schedule with a four-game series against UC Riverside, Feb. 23-25. It is the earliest the Huskies have hosted a home stand since 2004.
The Huskies will spend the third week of the season in Minneapolis, Minn., at the DQ Baseball Classic. There, they will face three Big Ten teams at U.S. Bank Stadium, the indoor home of the Minnesota Vikings and where the 2018 Super Bowl will be played. The three games will be played March 2-4, starting with UW battling Michigan State. The Huskies will also face tournament host Minnesota and Illinois.
Washington will return home and face Seattle in the first of a home-and-home exchange between the two schools. UW will host the Redhawks on Tuesday, March 6 and then travel to Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, Wash., on Tuesday, April 17.
The Huskies host Illinois State for four games (March 9-12) before opening the Pac-12 portion of their schedule. Arizona will visit Husky Ballpark for a three-game series, March 16-18.
UW then hits the road for back-to-back series, starting with defending Pac-12 Champion Oregon State. The Northwest rivals will play in Corvallis, Ore., March 23-25.
The Huskies continue their road ways heading down to Los Angeles to face USC, March 29-31. They will remain in Southern California and travel south on I-5 to face San Diego State, a 2017 NCAA tournament team, for a single game on Monday, April 2.
After their seven-game road swing, the Huskies return home for nine games in an 11-day span. Washington will play East Carolina in a Friday-Saturday, three-game series, with a double-header planned for April 8. The Huskies then host Gonzaga in the two schools' annual mid-week series, April 11 and 12. UW wraps up the busy week by battling their Northwest rivals, Oregon, a three-game series from Friday, April 13-Sunday, April 15.
The Huskies will hit the diamond against Seattle U in the final of the rivals' two-game series on April 17 before embarking on a Bay Area road trip. UW and California will meet in a three-game series carried on the Pac-12 Network, April 20-22.
UW hosts UT Rio Grande Valley for a single game on April 23 before welcoming cross-state rival Washington State, April 27-29. The series is part of the Pac-12 Conference's rivalry week, with all games televised on the network.
Washington enters the stretch run with a three-game series at Arizona State (May 4-6) and hosts UCLA for three games, May 11-13.
The Huskies wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule with a Tuesday, May 11 game at Husky Ballpark against Portland before ending the season with six games, all telecast on the Pac-12 Network.
UW's final road trip takes them to Utah (May 17-19) for three games, all scheduled to start at the unusual time of 10:30 a.m. to accommodate the minor league affiliate that the Utes share their ballpark with. The Diamond Dawgs return home after that and will take on Stanford (May 24-26) to wrap up the regular season.
All home games not on the Pac-12 Network will be streamed live on GoHuskies.com.
