Asia Brisco has made nine appearances off the bench this year, giving the Huskies some important energy in its attack as a sub. A Seattle-area native, Brisco played a season-high 29 minutes again Cal and continues to provide some punch in bursts for Washington.
What does it feel like to play at Husky Soccer Stadium?
Brisco: To play at Husky Soccer Stadium is an honor I know only so many are fortunate to have. It can be terrifying at the same time.
What is something the coaching staff has taught you off the field?
Brisco: They have taught me to be very grateful for everything that I have. Also, the importance of team and the role you have in that.
What is it like to play in the Pac-12 Conference?
Brisco: It's like being in an exclusive club. It's exciting and intimidating at the same time.
What is your favorite thing about living in Seattle?
Brisco: I love the aesthetic of urbanization and the fact that everyone is so kind. I love the green thinking the city exudes.
What are your favorite things to do in the summer in Seattle?
Brisco: I love to go to the farmer's market and walk my dog. I also love running on the Burke.
What are some of your earliest memories of playing soccer?
Brisco: My first goal, and the relationships I've fostered along my journey.
Who is your biggest inspiration(s) in why you play soccer?
Brisco: I play because I'm good and I love the game. But I'm inspired by my family to play because it makes them so proud and following this will allow me to pay it all back.
What do you love most about playing soccer?
Brisco: I love the opportunity to grow and push. I also love the network and relationships it comes with.
Who were your favorite players growing up?
Brisco: I love Marta the Brazilian. She played like no other woman I had ever seen. She was savage. Straight savage. Loved it.
Can you talk about some of the experiences that have been opened up to you through the sport and how have they changed your life?
Brisco: Life changer #1 will be the lovely people I have met so far. I have learned so much from just being in their presence.
