SEATTLE - Handwalla Bwana opened the scoring five minutes in and Kyle Coffee and Blake Bodily each added tallies in the second half to lead No. 22 Washington to a 3-0 victory over San Diego State in a Pac-12 match on Thursday night at Husky Soccer Stadium.

The Huskies improve to 9-2-0 with their sixth-straight win, improving to 3-0-0 in Pac-12 play. The Aztecs drop to 4-7-0 and remain winless in conference at 0-3-0.

Bwana got the Huskies on the board early with an impressive goal. Quentin Pearson headed a pass ahead to Bwana, who ran onto it into the box, made a great move to beat three defenders and the keeper, then slotted shot inside the far post to make it 1-0. The goal for Bwana was his sixth on the season, matching him with Scott Menzies for the team lead.

Washington held a 7-3 advantage in shots the first 45 minutes, but were unable to get a couple of great shots past SDSU netminder Adam Allmaras, who made four saves on the night.

In the second half, the Huskies added a goal in the 57th minute as Coffee picked up his first goal of the season sending home a rebound to make it 2-0. Beau Blanchard started the play with a shot from just outside the box that beat the keeper but hit the post. The shot went right to Coffee crashing in on the left side, who easily shot it into the empty net.

Things went from bad to worse for the Aztec as a staight red card for a dangerous tackle from behind dropped the vistors to 10 men in the 72nd minute.

Just three minutes later, Washington capped the scoring with a fantastic goal by Bodily. The freshman intercepted a pass along the SDSU backline, split a pair of crashing defenders then hit a shot over the on-rushing keeper for his third goal of the season.

"We are holding home court and were not giving up goals and the beauty is when you do that you start playing good stuff on the other side," said head coach Jamie Clark. "It was a fun, exciting game and the ball was buzzing. If we keep doing that we are in for a lot of wins."

Washington's offense continued to put up multiple goals, outscoring its opponents 19-4 over its last six matches, recording at least two in each. The last time the Huskies managed to net at least two goals in six-straight came near the end of the 1999 season.

Seif Kerawala made a pair of saves to record the his fifth shutout in the season.

"Both sides of the ball are playing well," said Clark. "We know that if we have good pressure we are going to create more chances and two of our goals tonight came off that pressure. The defense is playing with a lot of confidence. The more cleansheets we get the more confident they get."

Washington returns to the pitch on Sunday at 5:00 pm, hosting UCLA in Pac-12 showdown at the Husky Soccer Stadium.
