Lamb's Four Hits Help Propel Arizona To NL Division Series
October 05, 2017 | Baseball
PHOENIX -- Former Husky star Jake Lamb had an Arizona Diamondbacks' postseason record four hits to help his team to an 11-8 victory over Colorado in the National League wild-card game Wednesday at Chase Field in Phoenix. Lamb, who was a 2012 sixth-round selection out of Washington after a stellar Husky career, went 4-for-5 at the plate and scored three runs as Arizona advanced to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL division series starting Friday in Los Angeles.
Lamb was a first-time NL All-Star this year and finished the season with 30 home runs, 105 runs batted in and a .248 batting average. He is the first Washington Husky player to ever collect 30 home runs or 100 RBI in a Major League season.
Lamb and the Diamondbacks will play the Dodgers Friday and Saturday in Los Angeles, before returning home for two games in Phoenix on Monday and Tuesday. Game five, if necessary, is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 12 in Los Angeles. All games will be televised by TBS.
