
Three Huskies Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team Recognition

SAN FRANCISCO - Three Huskies were named to the 2016 Pac-12 Conference Baseball All-Academic Second Team, including Josh Cushing, who was a first-team member last season. Joining Cushing on the list this year are seniors Spencer Jones and Duncan Hendrickson.
Cushing, a junior from Moraga, Calif. boasts a 3.40 grade point average in Business Administration and Marketing. The infielder played in 37 games, making 32 starts, and hit .287 with five home runs and 26 RBI.
Jones, who was selected in the Major League Baseball Draft on Friday by the Tampa Rays in the 10th round, graduated from Washington on Saturday with a 3.38 GPA in Economics. The right-handed pitcher from Sparks, Nev., was second in the Pac-12 with 32 appearances and had a 6-2 record with one save and a 4.14 ERA.
Hendrickson, a senior first baseman from Shoreline, Wash., earned his degree in Economics. He boasts a 3.41 GPA. The right-handed hitter batted .277 in 32 games and made 16 starts.
Seven Huskies also earned honorable mention All-Academic honors. That list includes: junior infielder Chris Baker, sophomore outfielder KJ Brady, sophomore infielder Levi Jordan, junior outfielder Jack Meggs, sophomore catcher Joey Morgan, senior pitcher Alex Nesbitt and sophomore infielder Nyles Nygaard.
