Box Score Pac-12 Recap Henry Wingo Post Game Interview Final Box

SEATTLE, WASH. -- Washington (13-4-0, 6-2-0) shutout UCLA (8-7-1, 3-5-0) for the second time this season after a 1-0 win Thursday night. The Huskies their Pac-12 title hopes alive after earning their fifth straight win and fifth shutout of the season.

"Today's game showed a lot of character," Washington head coach Jamie Clark said. "When you pick up an early lead the other team has nothing to lose so they come at you with all they've got. It took a great defensive performance to keep them off the scoreboard tonight."

The match's lone goal was scored in the the second minute off a set piece from Henry Wingo. Inside the box, Wingo took a shot that found its way to the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

The Bruins offense pressured the Huskies for all 90 minutes, totaling for 23 shots, nine from Abu Danladi. Goalkeeper Auden Schilder earned a career high nine saves against UCLA.

The Bruins closest attempt at equalizing the score when Danladi charged the net with a ball from Seyi Adekoya in the 55th minute. Danladi's attempt to get UCLA on the board was stopped by Schilder.

In the match five yellow cards and one red card were given out. Two Bruins were given cautions and one, Malcolm Jones, was given two resulting in a red card and being removed from the match. Washington freshman Elijah Rice was given a caution in the 58th minute.

Washington had 13 shots in the evening, nine were on goal. Handwalla Bwana had four, Kyle Coffee had two and Quentin Pearson, Mason Robertson, Justin Fiddes, Wingo, Scott Menzies and David Coly each took one shot.

Entering their final two matches of the regular season, the Dawgs gear up to host the SDSU Aztecs on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. Last time the two teams faced each other came out on top. Fans can watch the Dawgs continue their fight for the conference title live on the Pac-12 Network.
