TULSA, Okla. – After winning three straight matches to qualify for the main draw in singles at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships, Washington junior Mitch Stewart fell today to No. 47 David Biosca of East Tennessee State 6-2, 6-0.
"We know David Biosca having played against him a couple of times and today was definitely a super match for him," said Washington head coach Matt Anger. "Mitch never gives anything away and David just plain earned it."
Last season the Huskies hosted ETSU at the Nordstrom Tennis Center, with court one in singles featuring Stewart and Biosca. The Federal Way, Wash. native came out on top of their first matchup in a close one 7-5, 2-6, (10-7) to help lead UW to a 5-2 win.
Tomorrow, Stewart will play in the consolation singles bracket, which you can follow by visiting the ITA event page, or checking out the live stream link above.
