
Huskies Return Home From Futures Event

SEATTLE – Three members of the Washington men's tennis team returned home yesterday after playing at the USA F34 Futures event in Burlingame, Calif. where they played in a total of four matches.
Junior Jake Douglas and sophomore Enzo Sommer dropped their first matches in the qualifying draw, but Sebastian Hawken was able to defeat the No. 4 recruit in the 2019 class Jenson Brooksby 6-3, 7-6(5). In the second round, the sophomore from Oslo, Norway matched up with California's Florian Lakat, who is currently ranked 13th in the country by the ITA, and picked up the first set 6-3. However, Lakat would go on to win the next two sets to advance by a final score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Next on the schedule for the Huskies are their final two events of the fall season. Mitch Stewart, Gal Hakak and Jake Douglas will travel to Pensacola, Fla. for an ITF Future's Event beginning November 12th, while the remaining seven on the team will travel to Rolling Hills, Calif. for the Jack Kramer Invitational from November 10th to the 13th.
