Cushing Named First Team Pac-12 All-Academic

SAN FRANCISCO - Washington sophomore Josh Cushing was named to the Pac-12's All-Academic First Team Commissioner Larry Scott announced Thursday.
Cushing, a Business Administration major with a focus on marketing, has a 3.47 grade point average. He played in 42 games this year, making 36 starts. The native of Moraga, Calif. hit .235 and tied for fifth on the team with eight doubles and two home runs. He also drove in 15 runs and scored 13 runs.
Cushing was the only Husky to be named first or second team, but he is joined by six other Washington players that were named honorable mention: Chris Baker, Branden Berry, Braden Bishop, Tyler Davis, Jack Meggs and Will Sparks.
