UW Baseball Delivers Clothing To Needy Youths
December 23, 2015 | Baseball
The Husky Baseball team prides itself on being great on the field, strong in the classroom and pillars in the community. On Tuesday, the team wrapped up one its community projects by collecting and donating clothing to help support the University District Youth Center (UDYC).
Members of the team have spent the past several weeks gathering together new and used clothing and today they delivered those items to the UDYC.
The UDYC supplies homeless, troubled and at-risk youths aged 12-23 with food, support and tools they may need to help improve their daily lives. With many of their kids being college aged, the UDYC especially needs male clothing, making them a perfect fit as the recipients of a helping hand from the UW Baseball team. And with winter months upon us, the team focused on donating warm-weather gear.
Local products Alex Galgano and Jack Meggs helped deliver the items on Tuesday, hopefully making the holiday season brighter for those less fortunate.
