
Davis Named Second Team Pre-Season All-America

TUCSON, Ariz. – Husky senior Tyler Davis was named Second Team Louisville Slugger Pre-Season All-America by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. The right-hander from Mountain View, Calif., was one of six Pac-12 players named to the first- or second-team lists.
Davis was 11-2 with a 1.60 ERA in 106.6 innings last season. He began the season as a reliever before making starts in his final 15 appearances. He was the fourth-ever UW player with 11 or more wins – the first since Tim Lincecum (12) in 2006.
Davis joined UW's pitching single-season record book after last season in the following categories: innings (6th, 106.2), wins (T2nd, 11), ERA (5th, 1.60). He is also high up on several UW career lists, including starts (10th, 35) and innings pitched (9th, 246.0). He threw 8.0 innings in each of his last five starts after never pitching 8 innings previously, and in his 15 starts he allowed two or fewer runs 13 times.
Davis was named to Louisville Slugger's second-team All-America list following the 2014 season. He also was Third Team NCBWA All-America, All-Pac-12, a finalist for the Gregg Olson Breakout Player of the Year, semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and a member of the Dick Howser Award watch list.
