SEATTLE - Washington pitcher Tim Lincecum has been selected as a Cape Cod League all-star and will compete in the annual all-star game this Saturday, July 30. The game will be telecast live on CSTV (available via most cable and satellite packages), beginning at noon Pacific Time.
Lincecum, who will be a junior at the UW next season, has emerged as the closer for the Harwich (Mass.) Mariners in the Cape League, considered by most the top summer league in the nation. Lincecum leads the league with his 0.79 earned run average. In 14 appearances, he's allowed only 14 hits while striking out 58 in 34 innings.
