UW Men's Tennis Upset by No.48 Arizona, 3-4

The 12th-ranked University of Washington men's tennis team (16-5, 1-2) was upset by No. 48 Arizona, 3-4, in play this afternoon at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. The Huskies claimed the doubles point but lost four out of the six singles matches. The loss ends the 10-match win streak that UW held, dating back to Feb. 16.
Washington won two out of the three doubles matches, earning victories from the No. 2 and 3 duos. Sophomores Dillon Ruby and Ari Strasberg defeated Tom Lloyd and Whi Kim, 9-7. Andrej Bizjak and Matt Hanlin took care of Roeland Brateanu and Arnaud Agniel also by a score of 9-7. UW's Jeremy Berman and Andy Posavac lost in a tiebreaker to Steven Capriati and Carl Hagman, 9-8.
In singles play, Washington earned two victories from Andy Posavac and Ari Strasberg. Playing in the No. 5 position, Strasberg defeated Agniel in two sets, 6-2, 6-2. Strasberg is now 22-6 on the season and has a nine-match win streak. Posavac, who played in the No. 4 spot, defeated Arizona's Jari Niskala, 6-3, 6-4.
Washington heads to Arizona State to face the Sun Devils tomorrow, Sat. April 7 at 11 a.m.
