Washington Men's Tennis Takes Bite Out of Gators

SEATTLE, Wash. -
The 19th-ranked Washington men's tennis team upset a top-10 team for the second time this weekend in the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships, as the Huskies defeated No. 8 Florida by a score of 4-1. Washington won the doubles point and notched three singles victories.
Husky duo Jeremy Berman and Andy Posavac defeated Behrmann/Wurtzman of Florida, 8-3, to bring their overall doubles record to 5-4 on the season. Playing in the No. 2 position, sophomores Dillon Ruby and Ari Strasberg took down Hahn/Greenstein by a score of 8-4.
In singles play, Andy Posavac defeated Troy Hahn in the No. 3 position (6-0, 6-3). Posavac has yet to be defeated this season, improving his record to 9-0. The senior from Austria has also never gone into the third set during this year's campaign, easily taking care of his opponents in two. The Huskies also earned victories from Jeremy Berman and Marius Lunde.
The next action for the Dawgs will be against UC Santa Barbara and the University of Oregon, when they travel to Eugene to face both teams on Feb. 24-25.
