SEATTLE - The top-ranked Huskies scored four runs in the first inning and then five in the fourth to thump No. 19 Oregon, 9-0, in five innings on Friday. UW improves to 56-6 overall and 16-3 in the Pac-10, and will host No. 13 Oregon State in a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. Oregon falls to 34-25 and 6-13.

UW's first three batters scored off three hits and an error in the first inning, and the Huskies sent 10 batters to the plate in the fourth frame to end the game early. Rosie Leutzinger and Kelly Hauxhurst both singled before performing a double steal while Kim DePaul was at-bat. DePaul knocked in Leutzinger and reached second on an error that also allowed Hauxhurst to score. Jaime Clark's fielder's choice forced Jenny Topping out at second after Topping got pegged at the plate, but a double by Jennifer Spediacci brought DePaul and Clark around after Clark stole second.

The Huskies got singles in the second and third innings by Erin Helgeland, Clark and Spediacci but couldn't score again until a wild fifth inning. Helgeland, Leutzinger and Hauxhurst all singled before Topping reached second on a single and an error, scoring Helgeland and Leutzinger. Clark doubled Hauxhurst and Topping home to end the scoring, though Spediacci walked and pinch hitter Shannon Walsh singled later in the inning. All five runs in the fifth came with two outs.

Spediacci (31-3) struck out four and allowed one hit in four innings before Bridget Wilcox relieved her in the fifth. Oregon's Andrea Vidlund falls to 16-8.
