PRIOR TO UW & PERSONAL: Jingfan Stefanie Deng attended the SMIC Private School in Shanghai, China … In 2019, finished second at the Buick National Junior Classic in China, fourth at the Super Lychee Amateur Golf Future Tour, fifth at the National Junior Jian Lakes Blue Bay Open and ninth at the China National Amateur Classic … she took home the titles at the 2018 Accord China Amateur Golf Open (Chongqing) and the 2017 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Memorial Open … placed third at the IMG Junior World Championship in 2017 and was runner-up at the Second Youth Games of the People’s Republic of China ... parents are Xiaosong Deng and Ailan Jin ... has a sister, Jinglan (Lannie) Deng ... intends on majoring in Nutritionial Science ... enjoys cooking.
GETTING TO KNOW STEFANIE DENG
Why Washington?: Because of the balance between academics and golf. UW excels at both areas and that was very important for me in terms of choosing a college.
My favorite thing about Seattle: I love exploring the city and all the food options. Seattle is such a diverse city and I love the different cultures that are in this city.
If I could start a charity, it would be: I would create a charity to help clean up the plastic waste around the world. The waste problem is such a big issue in the world and I really wish to be a part of the solution.
If you could have a walk-up song on the first tee box, what would it be?: What's Popping - Jack Harlow
Most surprising thing in your golf bag?: Always, always have sunscreen
What's your favorite photo on you phone?: A picture of my two dogs back home. Seeing them bring me a lot of joy.
Favorite TV shows?: Brooklyn 99, Jujutsu Kaisen
- Played in all 10 tournaments and all 26 rounds during her senior season
- Started in all three fall tournaments
- Finished in a tie for 53rd in a 108-woman field at the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay, UW's first fall event
- Shot a 1-under 71 in the second round at Chambers
- Steady week at the Stanford Intercollegiate (73-73-72) for a 5-over total of 218
- Won the Lady Bulldog Invitational (a one-day, individuals-only event) with a 3-under 69
- Named Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Week following her win at the Lady Bulldog
- Tied for 21st at the Pac-12 Preview, carding a 1-under 72 in the final round
- Finished in a tie for 15th place at the Juli Inkster Invitational, with a two-round total of even-par 144
- Another strong performance at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, where she finished 12th with a 2-under 214 (72-70-72)

- Shared team lead with two top-10 finishes
- Played in three out of four events in the fall
- Low round of the year (and lowest among all UW golfers) was a 3-under 68 in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate
- Tied for eighth place at the weather-shortened Causeway Invitational, with a 1-over 73
- Carded scores of 74-74-75 at the Juli Inkster Invitational
- Tied for UW's low scorer at the PING/ASU Invitational, tying for 21st place overall with a 3-over 219

- Had the fourth-best (tied) final round at The Show (1-over 73), in windy conditions.
- UW's top finisher at the Gunrock Invitational, tying for seventh overall with a 5-under 211.
- Shot 68 and 69 in the first two rounds at the Gunrock, both on the same day.
- Tied for 29th at the Juli Inkster Invitational, with a 7-over 223.
- UW's top finisher at the Pac-12 Championships, in a tie for ninth place at 4-over.
- Had two rounds of 1-under 71 at Pac-12s.
- Finished in a tie for 36th at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional, with a 14-over 227.
