2017 Season (Senior): Started 19 matches, missing UW's victory over Drexel early in the season due to sickness ... played third-most minutes on the team with 1,701 minutes played, playing 90 or more minutes in 15 matches ... recorded lone point of the season with an assist in the Huskies' 1-1 tie at Stanford (10/12).
2016 Season (Junior): Played in 19 games, including 15 starts ... had three goals on the season ... scored in a 2-0 win against College of Charleston (9/18) ... scored less than two minutes into the game in a 4-0 win at UCLA (9/29) ... also scored in a 3-1 victory against Gonzaga (10/21) ... earned Second Team Academic All-Pac-12 honors.
2015 Season (Sophomore): Played in seven games, including three starts … scored one goal, a header in the final seconds of regulation in a 1-1 draw at San Diego State (11/6) … had five shots, including two on goal … played 399 minutes on the season for the Washington defense that ranked among the best in the country…earned First Team Academic All-Pac-12 honors.
2014 Season (Freshman): Had appearances in 12 games, with 8 game starts...the defender contributed two assists and one goal on the season…made his first career game-start in Washington’ game against Seattle U (9/4/14)…recorded and assist and scored the game-winning goal against California (11/9/14).
High School/Personal: Played for Crossfire Premier Academy... Was center back for Bellevue High School... In 2013 he was chosen to play in the Academy Select All-Star game in Sarasota, Florida... In the U.S. Development Academy, he was named to the U-18 Best XI Academy players in the West Coast after the 2012-13 season.... According to CollegeSoccerNews.com, Garret was the 122nd ranked 2014 recruit in the nation... His brother, Bradley Jackson, played soccer at the University of Redlands from 2009-20013... His father, Brent Jackson, played soccer at UC Davis from 1979-1982...cousin, Ryan Whalen, played Wide Receiver at Stanford from 2007-2011... Jackson says his favorite athlete is Richard Sherman because, “he plays with no fear, wears his heart on his sleeve and is consistently great on the field.”
Clark on Jackson: “Garret is a very tough defender that now has a lot of experience playing against the top attacking players in the Pac12. He is a very good passer of the ball and we can build the game through him. Where he really thrives is in the air, where he is real force at either end of the field.”
