Marqus Brown joined the Washington men's rowing team staff in the summer of 2021. At UW, he helps coach the freshmen. The 2022-23 season marks his second year on the Husky staff.

Brown came to Conibear Shellhouse from Philadelphia, where he was a collegiate rower and a coach. He spent the last three years as the head rowing coach at Boys' Latin High School in Philadelphia, where the team doubled in size during his tenure.

Prior to taking charge at Boys' Latin, he was an assistant rowing coach at his alma mater, La Salle University in 2017-18. He has also been involved in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization and Access to Row Philly.

A four-year member of the varsity rowing team at La Salle, Brown was the team's captain in 2015-16. He earned his degree in business, marketing: leadership & management in 2016.
