2013-14 (Freshman) - Reached double-digit scoring seven times this season including a career-best 16 points against Utah in the Pac-12 tournament … went 5-of-8 from the field including a career-best 6-of-8 from the FT line … scored 10 points in his Pac-12 debut at Arizona State (Jan. 2) where it was his highest point total since 13 against No. 10 UConn … posted his fourth double-digit scoring effort of the season with 10 points (3-of-7 FG, 2-of-4 3FG, 2-of-2 FT) against LBSU (Nov. 30) … tallied 11 points on 50 percent shooting form the field against Boston College at MSG (Nov. 22) … recorded his second double-figure outing in three games with 12 points against Eastern Washington (Nov. 17) … notched six points (1-of-4 FG, 4-of-4 FT) against UC-Irvine (Nov. 14) … reached double figures in his first collegiate game with 16 points (5-of-15 FG, 1-of-5 3FG, 5-of-5 FT) vs. Seattle (Nov. 10) while adding seven rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes.

Coach Romar on Johnson - Physically, with his body type, he is ready to go right now. He's aggressive, strong and a slasher that goes to the basket, but he compliments it with a nice jump shot. I don't want to compare him to Terrence Ross, but Terrence had that blend of being a slasher and a shooter. Terrence is probably a better shooter, but in terms of slashing, Darin is probably better at slashing to the basket. He wants to become a better basketball player. He likes our style; he feels our style matches who he is as a person and a player and he decided to pick the university of Washington. We could not be happier.
