High School and Personal: Born in Upland, California … parents are Michele Dyche and Eric Espinal … has one older sister, Ashley … sister and father are both UW alumni … a two-time state qualifier on the track at the 3A level, qualifying in the 800-meters as a junior and a senior … was 16th at the state meet in both 2012 and 2013 … won the 1,600-meter SPSL title as a sophomore in 2011 … ran her 800m PR of 2:19.01 at districts her junior season … set a 1,600m best of 5:16.85 at the district meet in 2011 … a three-time state cross country competitor, with a best finish of 48th as a sophomore in 2010 … had climbed Mt. Rainier on two occasions … ran first half-marathon at age nine … graduated with a 3.96 grade point average.
