UW Women's Rowing Virtual Tour
Part 2: The Process
That bar of excellence is always going to be there…. Excellence is a process and getting to that level is a process. You can't rush it, you've got to enjoy it.
- Hallie Jensen
The Washington women's rowing team builds its success from the ground up. While many coxswains and rowers arrive on campus with lengthy résumés in the sport – including experience at junior, under-23 and senior world championships, and even the Olympics – the UW has a long tradition of identifying, recruiting and training highly-motivated and physically-talented women with little or no rowing experience, and guiding them to the highest highs. The United States National Team has featured a long list of UW alumnae who learned to row at Washington and then went on to win Olympic medals.
