Rarely have the Huskies had a player as consistent as Taylor Sekyra, who has been nothing but reliable her entire career in central defense. Sekyra has started every game since October 2, 2016, a streak of 55 consecutive games. She has sat for just 41 minutes over the last two and a half seasons. With Sekyra leading the defense, the Huskies have recorded over 20 shutouts.
Currently in her second season as team captain, Sekyra has also earned her way onto the Pac-12's All-Academic team each of the last three seasons. in 2017, she was named the Husky Invitational Defensive MVP as Washington recorded back-to-back shutouts against #2 Florida and New Mexico. Sekyra is a biology major.

Beating #2 Florida at home!
What message to do you have to the Huskies?
I feel lucky to have shared this experience alongside many amazing teammates over the years and for the family we have made. I'm grateful that I got the opportunity to do what I love in my hometown at the University of Washington. I have learned and grown so much during my time here and will always be a Husky for life.
