WILSON ON NORRIS: "Shawna is an incredible athlete who is very versatile. She has amazing size, strength, speed, and an absolute cannon for an arm. She can play the infield or outfield, but with her arm strength and speed, her talents will be best utilized in the outfield.
"Shawna has amazing power with her bat, and is working hard to take her game to the next level. Combine Shawna's potential to hit for power and to hit the gaps, with her speed on offense, and then switch half-innings, and add her potential range, speed and arm strength in the outfield, and you see just how intimidating we expect Shawna to become."

SHAWNA UNPLUGGED
If I were on Survivor, my luxury item would be:
A picture of my family, because I owe everything to them.
Being at Washington has taught me:
How to work hard and recognize potential.
A word to describe the coaching staff:
Hard core, because they always want and get the best out of us.
I am superstitious about:
Having to chew gum every time I play.
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing it would be:
Stay positive and don't take anything personally.
