Host UW No. 13 Seed At NCAA Women's Golf West Regional

NCAA Women's Golf Championships
SEATTLE - The field for the three regions of the NCAA Women's Golf Championship were announced on Monday and Washington will be the No. 13 seed in the West Region, which will be played at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash. from May 5-7.
Washington National previously hosted the 2002 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships and most recently the 2006 NCAA Women's Regional.
In all, 24 teams will compete at the West Regional with the top eight squads advancing to the NCAA Championships hosted by Texas A&M at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas from May 18-21.
Sixteen teams ranked among the nation's top-50 will all be travelling to Washington National. The following schools (with Golfstat.com rankings in parentheses) were assigned and seeded in the West Regional:

No. 38 Washington has participated in the NCAA Regionals in 16 of the last 17 years and has advanced to the NCAA Championship eight times in team history. The Huskies will be led by senior Anya Alvarez (Jenks, Okla.), whose 73.76 scoring average helped her earn Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honors.
Joining Alvarez in the UW regional lineup will be junior Sadena Parks, freshmen A Ram Choi and Kelli Bowers and senior Karinn Dickinson.
Besides Washington, Notre Dame will host the Central Regional Championship and Stetson University will host the East Regional Championship.
