
NCAA Tournament Begins On Saturday

SEATTLE – Washington women's tennis opens the NCAA Tournament on Saturday against Liberty at the University of Virginia at 8 a.m. PT.
The winner of the match will go on to face the winner of (7) Virginia versus Saint Francis on Sunday at 10 a.m. PT in the second round. Live stream and live scoring information can be found on GoHuskies.com.
Washington finished the regular season with a 18-4 overall record. The Dawgs were the 5-seed in the Big Ten Tournament and advanced to the Quarterfinals.
DAWGS GETTING IT DONE ON ALL COURTS
Through 24 matches, Washington is a combined 117-40 across all courts in singles and doubles.
DOUBLE DAWGS
Washington has won 20 of 24 doubles points this season. The UW duos are a combined 44-13 in doubles action.
POSTSEASON DAWGS
Washington is making its 20th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their fifth consecutive.
HUSKIES IN THE ITA RANKINGS
Washington is No. 22 in the latest ITA Team Rankings that came out on April 30. Two Huskies are in the ITA singles rankings in No. 53 Reece Carter and No. 89 Erika Matsuda. In the doubles rankings, Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit are ranked No. 87.
ALL-BIG TEN RECOGNITION
Reece Carter and Erika Matsuda were named to All-Big Ten teams last week. Carter earned first team honors while Matsuda was named to the second team and sportsmanship team. Both Carter and Matsuda have earned an all-conference honor in all four years of their collegiate career.
THE WINNINGEST COACH IN PROGRAM HISTORY
Last weekend in the win over Penn State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, Robin Stephenson became the all-time winningest head coach in program history with her 193rd victory. She passed Lisa Moldrem (1984-97) who had 192 in her 14 seasons at the helm. Stephenson got the record in just 12 seasons.
HOME SWEET HOME
Under head coach Robin Stephenson, the Huskies are 115-29 in Seattle since 2015. The Huskies have posted double-digit home wins in four of the last five season, combining for 61 victories over that time. Washington completed its first undefeated regular season on Montlake for the first time since 2003.
