UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – No. 22 Washington women's tennis earned a 4-2 win at No. 56 Penn State on Friday afternoon at Sarni Tennis Center.

Washington improves to 18-3 on the season with a 9-3 mark in Big Ten action.

The Dawgs earned their 19th doubles point with wins by Alexia Jacobs/Marie Weissheim, 7-5, on Court 2 and Reece Carter/Jermine Sherif, 6-3, on Court 3. UW is 16-0 on the No. 2 doubles court this season.

Penn State tied the match at one point each with a straight set victory on Court 4, 6-3, 6-3. The Nittany Lions put their second point on the board with a win on Court 6, 6-3, 7-6(4).

Sherif tied the match – once again – with her straight-set victory on Court 5, 7-6(4), 6-1. No. 84 Carter put the match within one point for the Dawgs with her three-set win, 7-6(6), 0-6, 6-1.

The match came down to third sets on Courts 1 and 3. No. 82 Erika Matsuda clinched the match with her comeback win at the No. 1 spot, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Washington hits the courts next on Sunday at No. 5 Ohio State. The match is scheduled for 9 a.m. PT with live scoring and live stream information available on GoHuskies.com.
