No. 15 Washington Remains Undefeated, Sweeps No. 49 Maryland

SEATTLE – No. 15 Washington women's tennis swept their fifth consecutive match following a 4-0 victory over No. 49 Maryland on Sunday afternoon at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
The Huskies move to 11-0 on the season and 2-0 in Big Ten action.
Alexia Jacobs and Marie Weissheim were the first doubles court to finish, taking care of business, 6-1. The duo improves to 6-0 in doubles and 5-0 on the No. 2 court.
On the No. 1 doubles court, Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit had their second consecutive ranked win defeating the No. 23-ranked pair, 6-3, to secure the doubles point. Matsuda and Syrtveit are 3-1 against ranked doubles teams this season and 9-1 overall.
Washington has won all 11 doubles points this season and are 23-3 across the courts.
In singles action, Jacobs was the first to finish her match going 6-4, 6-0 to put the second Husky point on the board.
No. 64 Carter remained undefeated in singles with her 6-3, 6-1 win on the No. 2 court. Carter is 10-0 on the dual season, just two off her pace from last season where she was named a first team all-conference performer.
No. 79 Matsuda secured the sweep with her 6-2, 6-1 win on the No. 1 court.
Washington will be back on the court on Saturday at Oregon. The match is scheduled to begin at noon in Eugene.
