Dozen Dawgs Qualify For NCAA Indoors
March 04, 2026 | Track & Field
SEATTLE – Washington has secured a dozen entries to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for Mar. 13-14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The entries are evenly split between the men's and women's teams, with six entries per side.
Arkansas will host the indoor championships next week at the Randal Tyson Center.
The men's squad is made up of four individuals and one relay. Continuing UW's legacy in the men's mile will be a pair of entries in Reuben Reina and Thom Diamond. Reina will also double back in the 3,000-meters, the one Husky entered in multiple individual events.
Evan Jenkins makes his first NCAA 5,000-meters appearance, and James Rhoads heads to NCAAs with the nation's top pole vault mark this year.
The men's DMR earns another NCAA bid with the seventh-fastest time in the country. The qualifying time was run by Thom Diamond, Alex Rhodes, Tyler Bilyard, and Reuben Reina. Depending on scheduling and advancement, the lineup will likely differ from that.
The women's lineup of qualifiers is similar to the men's, with two entries in the mile, a 5k entry, a DMR entry and pole vault representation.
NCAA leader Hana Moll will go for a second NCAA Indoor title and a third NCAA title overall, coming in with a 16-foot season-best. Joining Moll will be true freshman Veronica Vacca, who took Big Ten runner-up honors with a new PR of 14-9.
Chloe Foerster and Mia Cochran both made the cut in the women's mile. Foerster could have also qualified in the 800m but chose to race the mile for the third year in a row; she was sixth in the mile final a year ago. It will be Cochran's first individual NCAA appearance after earning All-America honors on the DMR the past two years.
Chloe Thomas grabbed the 16th spot in the women's 5,000-meters field. She'll be the first Husky in that event at NCAAs since Haley Herberg in 2022.
The women will have their DMR in the mix for the eighth consecutive season. The group that qualified at the Husky Classic was comprised of Foerster, Chloe Symon, Jenica Swartz, and Mia Cochran. The Huskies then won the Big Ten DMR title with Chloe Thomas, Symon, Cochran, and Foerster. At Nationals, expect Symon, Swartz, and Julia David-Smith to all get the stick, with Foerster or Cochran potentially doubling back after the mile prelims.
