July 11, 2026 | Track & Field
SEATTLE -- The unofficial Husky Euro Circuit continued on Friday and Saturday in Monaco, Ireland and Belgium. Washington had several past, present, and also future athletes in action, highlighted by the Moll twins competing at the elite Monaco Diamond League event, where Amanda Moll had a career-best second-place finish.
Just one week after competing at the Pre Classic in Eugene, the Moll twins were halfway around the world in Monaco for another vault against the world's best. Amanda was one of only two women to clear 15-5 3/4. She took second behind reigning Olympic Champion Nina Kennedy, and finished ahead of top American and 2020 Olympic Champion Katie Moon.
Hana Moll had a 14-10 clearance to finish seventh overall.
At the Morton Games in Ireland, the women's 1,500-meters featured a Husky foursome. 2025 NCAA Champion Sophie O'Sullivan took the win, just ahead of 2026 grad and former teammate Chloe Foerster. O'Sullivan ran 4:08.26 and Foerster ran 4:08.47. Julia David-Smith went sub-4:10 for the first time, running 4:09.48, and 2025 grad Amina Maatoug ran 4:10.37 just two days after her 3k victory in Cork.
The men's Morton Mile was won by former assistant coach Sam Prakel in 3:50.97 for a meet record. Thom Diamond was ninth in 3:55.40, and 2025 grad Ronan McMahon-Staggs was 12th in 3:55.93.
Incoming Irish freshman Saorise Fitzgerald was sixth in the 800-meters with an impressive personal-best time of 2:03.52.
Former Husky All-American Brian Fay was seventh in the 5,000-meters in 13:18.32.
At a meet on Saturday in Kort, Belgium, Husky teammates Mia Cochran and Jenica Swartz finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 800-meters. Cochran had a big PR of 2:03.95 and Swartz ran 2:04.19.
In the men's 800m, Reuben Reina posted a 1:47.51 for seventh-place. Former Dawg Justin O'Toole was 14th in 1:49.00.
Another incoming Husky, Jonathan Podbielski, a transfer from University of Regina, ran a 1,500m PR of 3:36.14 to take sixth overall.
