SEATTLE – The Washington gymnastics team returns home to face No. 34 Illinois in a meet celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The match up is set for Saturday, Feb. 7 at 3:00 p.m. PT inside Alaska Airlines Arena.

Washington is coming off a strong performance at No. 5 UCLA last Friday, posting a season-high team score of 195.775, despite their loss at Pauly Pavilion.
The GymDawgs opened the meet on bars, recording their highest bars score of the season (49.275). Mary McDonough led the rotation with a 9.900, matching her career-high. Olivia Oppegard and Deiah Moody followed with 9.875s, also matching career-highs, while Kristin Lin added a season-high 9.775 and Caitlin McWilliams matched her season-high with a 9.725.
On vault, the Huskies posted a 48.925, their best vault score of the season. Kira Bolden led the rotation with a career-high 9.850, while Lin followed with a 9.825, matching her career-high. McWilliams also matched her career-high with a 9.750.
Washington continued its momentum on floor, recording its top rotation of the night with a 49.275. McDonough earned a 9.900, marking this her season-high, while Lin and McWilliams each contributed 9.875s.
The GymDawgs closed the meet on beam with a 48.300. Anchor Chelsea Hallinan led the rotation with a 9.875. Lin and Moody each added 9.800s, with Moody matching her career-high on beam.
Lin capped the night with a career-high 39.275 in the all-around.
Following the UCLA meet, Hallinan ranked No. 21 nationally and No. 5 in the Big Ten on beam.
HUSKIES IN THE RANKINGS
Illinois enters the meet following a 196.275–195.725 loss at Maryland on Sunday. The Fighting Illini showcased their depth throughout the afternoon, highlighted by several standout performances. Sophomore Chloe Cho led the way, claiming the all-around title with a 39.450. Her performance was highlighted by a 9.925 on uneven bars, paired with a consistent 9.900 on floor exercise.
