
Washington Hosts No. 12 Minnesota For Purple Strong Night

SEATTLE – The Huskies return home to face No. 12 Minnesota at Alaska Airlines Arena this Friday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. PST for the Purple Strong Meet.

Washington heads into the meet following a strong road performance in Columbus, where the GymDawgs defeated No. 19 Ohio State 196.475-196.300 at Covelli Center last Saturday, marking the team's top score of the season.
The Huskies opened the night on bars with a 49.000. Mary McDonough and Lilly Tubbs led the rotation with matching scores of 9.850 to share the event title. Caitlin McWilliams and Deiah Moody each recorded 9.775, with McWilliams earning a new season-high. Kristin Lin and Olivia Oppegard added 9.750 to round out the lineup.
Washington carried that momentum to vault, recording a season-best 49.100. Kira Bolden led the way with a career-high 9.875 to claim the event title. Jessica Schaffer and Tubbs followed closely with 9.850, earning a tie for second overall. The mark was a career-high for Schaffer and season-high for Tubbs.
The GymDawgs continued their success on floor, posting their highest rotation score of the night with a 49.225. Bolden wowed the crowd with a career-high 9.925, tying for second overall. Lin added a 9.875, while McDonough contributed a 9.850.
Washington closed the night on beam with one stuck landings after another, scoring 49.150, their second-highest rotation of the night. Moody captured the event title with a 9.900, matching her career-high. Chelsea Hallinan and Tubbs each recorded 9.850 to tie for third overall, while Lana Navarro added a 9.800.
Lin capped off the night with a 39.050 in the all-around.
Following the Ohio State meet, Hallinan ranked No. 12 nationally No. 4 in the Big Ten on beam.
HUSKIES IN THE RANKINGS
Minnesota enters the meet after defeating No. 15 Penn State, scoring 197.075–196.000 on Saturday at Rec Hall. The Golden Gophers earned their first road win of the season and surpassed the 197 mark for the fourth time in seven meets. Ava Stweart won he first beam title of the year with a career-best 9.950, Minnesota's 49.500 beam score was a season-best and tied for ninth-highest in program history. Arianna Ostrum won her fifth event title of the season and second straight on vault, with a 9.875.
