SEATTLE – Washington Men's Tennis head coach Rahim Esmail has announced his team's 2026 spring schedule this past week. His team is looking to build upon the individual and team successes of last season and in the Fall campaign, the Huskies believe they are primed to excel this season.
The Men's team produced multiple individual victories, highlighted by Soham Purohit's singles berth at the NCAA Singles Championships in the Fall Season.
Washington will open the 2026 season visiting Hawaii on Jan. 10, with the home opener a week later against Belmont on Jan. 17, followed by a clash with Princeton a mere three days later on Jan 20.
The Huskies will then head to ITA Kickoff Weekend in Austin, Texas, where they will face South Florida in the opening round on Jan. 23. Depending on the result against South Florida, the Dawgs will meet either Texas or UNC-Wilmington on Jan. 24. Should they advance through Kickoff Weekend, Washington will qualify for the ITA Team Indoor National Championship, which will be held Feb. 13 - 17 in Dallas & Waco, Texas.
Prior to the ITA Indoor Nationals, Washington will host consecutive home non-conference matches against Portland (Feb. 6) and Gonzaga (Feb. 8). The Dawgs currently have non-conference contests tentatively scheduled against Santa Clara and Portland State for Valentine's Day (Feb. 14).
Following the ITA Indoor Nationals and Valentine's Day Double Header, Washington will also attend the Arizona State Invitational in Tempe, Arizona, from Feb. 27-28.
The Dawgs then take to the road for their road trip through Illinois to open Big Ten play with matches against Northwestern (March 6) and Illinois (March 8). The Huskies then return to Montlake for a three-match homestand against Purdue (March 13), Indiana (March 15), and Oregon (March 21).
UW heads back on the road with a trip to the Midwest for a pair of matches against Nebraska (March 27) and Wisconsin (March 39). The Huskies will return home for a two-match stand against both Michigan State (April 3) and Michigan (April 5) before heading back on the road for their final road trip of the season, heading to the Northeast with matches against Penn State (April 10) and Ohio State (April 12).
Closing out the regular season in at home in Seattle this year, UW plays host to fellow West Coast rivals USC (April 17) and UCLA (April 19).
The 2026 Big Ten Tournament will be held in Ojai, California, on April 23-26. The NCAA First and Second Rounds will be held May 1-3 and the NCAA Super Regionals on May 9- 10, both at campus sites. The NCAA Team Championships will begin May 14 in Athens, Georgia.
