
Washington Gymnastics Rides Career Nights to Victory Over No. 36 Rutgers

SEATTLE — Washington earned two individual event wins and three co-champions while defeating No. 36 Rutgers, 195.225–193.600, on Friday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.
The GymDawgs opened the meet on vault, posting their second-best rotation of the night with a 48.900. Lilly Tubbs, Mary McDonough, and Kira Bolden led the rotation, each scoring a 9.825 to tie for second place overall. Tubbs and McDonough matched their season-highs, while Bolden matched her career-high. Kristin Lin added a 9.725, also matching her season best.
On bars, Washington recorded a 48.725, highlighted by Tubbs' career-high 9.900 to claim the event title. Deiah Moody followed with a 9.825 to place second overall. Olivia Oppegard and Lin both earned 9.725, with Lin matching her season high.
The Huskies returned from the break to score a 48.325 on beam. Tubbs, Lin, and Chelsea Hallinan each posted a 9.875 to share the event title. Tubbs matched her career high, while Lin set a new career best. Oppegard contributed a 9.750.
Washington closed the meet with its strongest event of the night on floor, scoring a 49.275. Lin recorded a career-high 9.900 to win the event. Jessica Schaffer followed with a career-high 9.875 to place second overall. Hallinan, competing in the floor lineup for just the third time this season, earned a career-high 9.825. McDonough added a season-high of 9.825, while Caitlin McWilliams posted a season-high of 9.850.
Lin capped off the night with a career-high 39.225 in the all-around.
